Generic Drugs, are They as Good as Brand Names?
Generic drugs are copies of brand-name drugs that have exactly the same dosage, intended use, effects, side effects, route of administration, safety and strength as the original drug. In other words, their pharmacological effects are exactly the same as those of their brand-name counterparts. An example of a generic drug, one used for diabetes, is metformin. A brand name for metformin is Glucophage. Another common misbelief is that generic drugs take longer to work. The FDA requires that generic drugs work as fast and effectively as the original brand-name products. The difference between a brand name medication and a generic is in the name, shape and price. A generic drug is usually called by the name of the active ingredient while a manufacturer uses a brand name. However, a manufacturer cannot possess a patent for a certain chemical agent, this is why manufacturers of generic medications can legally produce the so-called generics.
-
Are the generic pills sold here FDA approved?
All generic pills are FDA approved . Thus all products presented on this site are FDA approved.
-
Why do people prefer Generics?
Because: the manufacturers of brand-name drugs invest large amount of money to advertise and persuade you to buy - their product; generic manufacturers spend less on advertising and product development; generic versions of the same medication create competition, which can drive prices down (Source: US Food and Drug Administration).
-
Why are generic drugs so cheap?
Many people become concerned because generic drugs are often substantially cheaper than the brand-name versions. They wonder if the quality and effectiveness have been compromised to make the less expensive products. The FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) requires that generic drugs be as safe and effective as brand-name drugs. Actually, generic drugs are only cheaper because the manufacturers did not take the expenses of developing and marketing a new drug. When a company brings a new drug onto the market, the firm has already spent substantial money on research, development, marketing and promotion of the drug. A patent is granted that gives the company that developed the drug an exclusive right to sell the drug as long as the patent is in effect. As the patent nears expiration, manufacturers can apply to the FDA for permission to make and sell generic versions of the drug; and without the startup costs for development of the drug, other companies can afford to make and sell it more cheaply. When multiple companies begin producing and selling a drug, the competition among them can also drive the price down even further. So theres no truth in the myths that generic drugs are manufactured in poorer-quality facilities or are inferior in quality to brand-name drugs. The FDA applies the same standards for all drug manufacturing facilities, and many companies manufacture both brand-name and generic drugs. In fact, the FDA estimates that 50% of generic drug production is by brand-name companies.
-
Are generic drugs available for all brand-name drugs?
No. Manufacturers can only produce generic drugs after the brand-name version of the drug loses its patent protection. Even after a patent expires, manufacturers may choose not to make a generic version of a particular drug. Today, about half of all brand-name drugs have generic counterparts.

What is the difference between 50 mg Viagra tabs and 100 mg?
The Generic Viagra we offer is available in 50mg and 100mg tabs. These are fixed dosages of Sildenafil (the active ingredient) in the pills: thus a 50mg Viagra pill contains 50 mg of Sildenafil concentrate and a 100mg Viagra pill contains 100mg of Sildenafil. The standard dose for achieving the effect is a 50mg pill. However, the ingredient effects different people in a different way so we would recommend you to start with 25mg (split a 50mg pill in two pieces and take one half only) to see if this is enough for you. If not - take a whole 50mg pill.
-
What is the difference between Soft and Regular tabs?
The difference is in the speed of action (Soft tabs act faster than the Regular ones) and in the zone of absorption. Soft tabs dissolve under the tongue that allows you to take alcohol or eat fatty foods, but when taking regular tabs drinking is strongly not recommended.
